Portable, Hand-Held Scanner Saves Images to SD cards and Transfers Via USB

Cumberland, R.I. (Jan. 6, 2011) – ION (www.ionaudio.com), a leader in consumer audio and imaging technology, announce they are now shipping COPYCAT, a portable, hand-held document scanner with USB and micro SD card capabilities. ION will unveil COPYCAT at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), booth #12638, in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 6 – 9.

COPYCAT quickly captures papers, photos, and other documents on the go. COPYCAT’s sturdy, lightweight design is easy and safe to carry around, while the included carry pouch keeps COPYCAT protected when in transit.

COPYCAT is slim and can easily be used with one hand. The curved exterior sides of COPYCAT allow for a comfortable handle and four rubber-coated rollers run along the lens providing smooth tracking when scanning documents. COPYCAT can scan up to 600dpi ensuring high-resolution files can be captured without any loss of quality. COPYCAT can also scan in either colour or black-and-white.

COPYCAT runs on standard AA batteries and writes to micro SD cards, so a computer is not necessary during the scanning process. COPYCAT supports micro SD cards up to 32GB in size, which means more than 30,000 pages can be scanned on a single card. Ejecting the micro SD card and inserting it into any compatible card reader offers a convenient method of transferring scanned images from COPYCAT to computer. 

COPYCAT also has a micro USB port to connect directly to a computer for easy, drag-and-drop transfer of scans to your Mac or PC. OCR (optical character recognition) software is included with COPYCAT enabling words within scanned documents to be converted into editable text.
